Shopping Black Friday During the Canada Post Strike
Posted by Leigh Cavanaugh on
As we head into Black Friday let's discuss how to navigate the ongoing Canada Post strike. As it stands, the strike continues without a clear idea of when it will end, however our team continues to stay on top of news and updates daily. We appreciate everyone's understanding during this time as we wait for Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to come to a resolution.
Any packages that are currently held with Canada Post are secured within their mailing system and will continue to move once the strike has ended. We have been informed by Canada Post that these packages are unfortunately not able to be retrieved from their system while on hold, but they will remain secure. If anyone requires assistance with a package after service has resumed, please reach out to our Customer Care Team.
For all shipping destinations on our website, our team was able to ensure there is at least a FedEx and/or DHL Express alternative at checkout outside of Canada Post's services. We understand that not everyone is able to afford the additional price of a courier service; Canada Post remains the cheapest shipping method and will continue to be an option at checkout for this reason.
We're happy to hold any orders where shipping with Canada Post is selected (Tracked & Expedited Packets, International Air and XpressPost services). However, please know that these packages will not be picked up from our workshop until the strike ends and Canada Post services resume. And when they do, Canada Post will likely be facing backlogs, which will lead to longer transit times as a result. Please take this into consideration when making your purchasing decisions.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Due to the added complexities surrounding this launch, we cannot guarantee an on-time delivery for the holidays. Please be sure to read our other Black Friday post for information on order add-ons, pick-ups and additional information.
Thank you for reading, if you have any questions, please contact our Customer Care Team. Have a great weekend ahead!
