New US Tariffs May Come Into Play Soon

Posted by Leigh Cavanaugh on

The tariff disputes between Canada and the United States have continued and August may be the month for further changes. Here is what we know so far.

Under Section 338, the US administration has proposed a 50% tariff on a broad (but not all encompassing) list of products classified by specific HTS codes and originating from Canada. As of right now, this is slated to come into effect on August 19th, however, this is not certain. We are continuing to work with our shipping partners to make sure we have the most accurate and up-to-date information leading up to this deadline and will update here as soon as we know more. In the meantime, we are researching for the best possible solution for our US customers should this come into play.

Currently, all Clionadh packages from Canada heading into the US are not subject to any additional fees upon delivery. The shipping cost you pay at checkout covers everything. No surprises.

In light of these potential changes, our team has decided to move up our Anniversary Sale. Starting now, you can shop and use the code 10YEARS, for 30% off*, until Sunday, August 9th, 11:59PM ET.

This sale was slated to start at the end of this month, but we wanted to give our US customers a chance to take advantage of the sale ahead of the August 19th deadline. Our goal is to have every order (including preorders) across the border before the above date. And if something is not, for whatever reason, we will pay the cost of the tariff on our end before it ships.

Please see our next post for full Anniversary Sale details.
